Editing is necessary, but it doesn’t have to be difficult. That’s why we wanted to make our editor easy to use.
Editing on Clapper 📱
If you’ve posted a video on Clapper, you know exactly where to find our new editor.
- Open the Clapper app.
- Tap the button in the middle of the menu along the bottom.
- Select “video”; either record up to 10 minutes of video in app, or upload your clips.
- Finished recording? Tap the orange “Next” button in the right corner.
- Tap the “Adjust” button on the right side of your screen.
- Edit your video(s)! We’ll get into how in just a minute.
- Once you’ve cut, overlaid, added music, and edited to your heart’s content, tap “Next” in the bottom corner.
- Add a description, hashtags, and some final touches, then post.

Five Easy-to-Use Tools 🧰
Traditional platforms have so many (mostly useless) features that they’re overwhelming. You have no idea which features you need to start with…or how to use them. And sometimes, those essential tools are hidden behind a paywall!
We distilled five essential tools into one free, uncomplicated editor. Whether you’re new to editing or a seasoned creator, these are the tools you’ll use the most.
Crop ✂️
Adjust the size of your video with crop. If you’ve ever edited a picture, you know how to crop a video. Simply zoom in (or out) to change the size of the video.
Overlay 🗜️
Add a picture over your video. This tool makes your videos more engaging visually; you’re talking with your followers while showing them exactly what you mean. It’s personal and illustrational!
Split 🔨
With this tool, you can split or cut a clip into two. Got a whole section of a video you want to cut out? Split it from the rest, and delete. Want to use a clip from the middle as the hook? Split it from the rest and move it to the front.
Speed ⚙️
Adjust the speed of individual clips. Slow down an unexpected moment or a funny reaction for comedic timing. Speed up a video of you working for an engaging time-lapse.
Voiceover 🎙️
A classic feature you’re very familiar with. Record a voiceover to make your tutorials educational and your aesthetic vlogs more personal.
