As much as we wish we were the only platform you used, we’re not “delulu” enough for that. We know you’ve got a few other social media apps on your phone. And that you’ve probably considered creating content on a few of them.
Which is, actually, what we want! A good content creator isn’t afraid to test our new platforms, and a great content creator is actively posting on a variety of them. In this article, we’re sharing a few ways you can use other platforms in your content creation process!
Each Platform’s Personality 🧠
Every social media platform has its own personality and community. We recommend spending some time getting to know the platform and its creators before you start sharing your content. And that you adjust your content strategy accordingly!
The key is to not post the exact same content across all platforms all the time. You can repost, of course, but you’ll reach a wider audience if you vary your content a little. Give each of your platforms their own personality or purpose. What from your content would work really well there? What can you post that will drive people to your Clapper account?
💡Bonus Tip: If you plan to repost your videos, just be sure to remove your watermarks! Snaptik and Instasave are great tools for that if you don’t have the original file somewhere else.💡
TikTok 🎶
We’ll eat our words a little on this first platform: you can repost your videos from Clapper on TikTok! Our platforms are similar, so you can easily cross-post on TikTok. But we recommend varying your content a little. The variation will encourage people to seek out your Clapper profile but still help you gain a following on TikTok.
In addition to videos you really love, we recommend sharing some behind-the-scenes content. These can be vlog-style videos, bloopers from previous shoots, or other fun content. The goal is to create content that will reach a new audience but not completely give away what you create on Clapper. It’s like the cheese that catches the mouse: entice them to check out your main profile. Then you spring the trap!
Instagram 📸
Just like TikTok, Instagram is a great place to repost some of your best videos and post additional fun content.
Instagram’s classic photo sharing also allows you to create more than just videos! Content creators post their regular content and some sneak peeks into their lives. Selfies, pictures of recent projects, recommendations– your Instagram feed can be more personal.
For those of you who create content with an end product (a craft, a tutorial, or a recipe) post the final result on Instagram! The algorithm will push your content to new users, and they’ll be interested in seeing the process on another platform. This is especially helpful for food creators: if a dish looks good enough, viewers will gladly go to another platform to get that recipe.
Facebook 🤩
Facebook can be used a lot like TikTok and Instagram: you can repost your videos and share pictures or other updates. But Facebook is great for some additional community!
Facebook has a ton of community groups you can join, so find some in your niche that you can be part of. You’ll even find groups for content creators and influencers. We even have one just for Clapper creators! Join a few and start connecting with creators on this new platform. Don’t have to promote your own content, but be involved in the community! You’ll make friends, and they’ll want to find you on your main platform. It may seem a little slow-moving or backward, but sometimes the best way to promote yourself is by…well, not!
X (or Twitter) 🦤
A lot of creators just drop links to their most recent videos or repost their videos on X. But that goes largely unnoticed, so we recommend stepping up your game!
If you’re a comedy creator, try dropping some of your favorite jokes on X. You may need to reformat them, but witty, funny posts do great on X! If you share tutorials, advice, or other educational content, try scripting it as a thread. With the right hook, your post will get a ton of attention.
Once you get a good following, then you can start plugging your Clapper offerings! Tell ’em about your Group chat, Fam Tiers, or Livestream schedule.
Pinterest 📌
Much like Instagram, you can share the final product of a project or tutorial on Pinterest. Their algorithm will feed it to users looking for inspiration, and you can link the picture to the video itself. You can do the same with more educational content: either repost the video itself or create a fun graphic to act as a cover.
We also recommend looking at Pinterest for inspiration on your own! You might find a craft you want to recreate or advice from other creators that really helps you. Pinterest is a fantastic source of inspiration for creators of all kinds, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on it.
Expert Tip💡
If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably already thinking of all the things you could create on these five platforms. Don’t worry about creating content on every single social media app: it’s about quality over quantity. Find a platform or two you enjoy and start creating content for them!
