We talk a lot about the Clapper Shop in the context of small businesses, but they aren’t the only ones who can use a Clapper Shop. Sure, we designed it for them, but all of our creators have access to the Clapper Shop from day one. And any creator, regardless of location or following, can create digital products to sell online. In fact, having a few digital products for sale in your Clapper Shop is a smart move for any creator!
In today’s article, we’re sharing four digital products to sell in your Clapper Shop. For three of them, all you need is a camera and your usual content-creating tools. But spoiler alert: the last one is kind of our favorite.
What Are Digital Products? 📱
Digital products are anything you sell that isn’t physical. Buyers might be able to print them off, but they’re sold and stored digitally. So you don’t have to store them somewhere, take the perfect picture of them, or fuss with shipping. What’s not to love?
There are a million different digital products to sell online, but we picked four options ideal for content creators. Most of these could be “shipped” via Clapper DMs, or via email if the file is too big! Just be sure to say how you’ll deliver the items in your listing. This is one of the important elements of digital product listing. That and examples from the product itself.
Without further ado, let’s dive into four digital products you need to sell!
Sell Video Requests 📹
If you’re open to some creative input, this digital product is a great fit for you! You’d throw up a listing letting creators suggest your next video. Creators can buy the item and submit their video request in the notes section. Then, of course, you’d create it! You can include any guidelines or rules for their video request and cancel an order if you can’t do it. Once you’ve done a few, you can even adjust the price to accommodate more involved videos. This is a fun way to collaborate with your followers and get them involved in the creation process.
If you’re not crazy about taking random requests, try listing an actual video idea in your Shop! Instead of suggesting a video, creators will “buy” it for you to make. Kind of like a producer and a movie! These videos should be exciting and maybe a little involved; they should be worth whatever you’re charging.
Sell Custom Videos 🎞️
At first glance, this might sound the same as the idea above. But this is more like Cameo! Essentially, creators will buy a custom video where you deliver some kind of message.
Many creators make custom videos for birthdays, celebrations, and words of advice. Some even record custom videos as their iconic characters, (Professor McGonagall telling you to get over your ex? So motivating.) Followers would buy a custom video and tell you who it’s for and what they want you to say. Just like the video requests option, you get to decide what people can request and you can adjust the price based on how involved the custom video is.
Sell Tickets to a Special Live 🎟️
This isn’t something you can do spur of the moment or as you have time to work on it. It takes a little more planning and prep, and usually, you need a fairly large audience. But this is a relatively easy one to sell followers on!
Plan a special digital event, like a funLivestream or Radio, and make it ticketed. It can either be a tiny, intimate Livestream just for you and your dedicated followers, or you can collab with other creators to throw one, crazy Livestream. You can make it a workshop or industry insider tips, a digital concert or poetry reading, or anything you want! The main thing is to plan an exciting event, promote it in advance, and set a fair price. And to get a moderator to help you control the audience and who gets in!
Workshops and Guides 📓
If you’re an expert in your niche, try offering some workshops, guides, or special lessons in your Shop. Your followers trust you and your expertise; they’ll enjoy learning from you if you’re a good teacher. It may take some time to develop your offerings or decide what to discuss, but this is a worthwhile investment of your time and money. Fitness creators would share a workout guide, cooking creators would sell a recipe book, and writers could sell guides about editing their work. Whatever you decide, you can leave it in your Shop and continue to offer it.
