How to Use AI For Ads

Creating ads and sponsored content isn’t easy, no matter how long you’ve been creating content. That’s why so many creators have been turning to AI for help creating their ads. We’ve seen so many creators wondering how to use AI to create engaging ads. And, we’ll be honest, we’ve been asking ourselves the same questions! In today’s article, we’ll be covering three main ways you can use AI to help create ads and sponsored content.

Before you ask, no, you do not have to use all of these strategies. AI is meant to be a tool, something to help you enhance your creative process. You only have to use the tools that you want to.

Without further ado, let’s get into how to use AI to create ads and sponsored content!

The Script 📝

One of the most popular ways to integrate AI into ads is by having it write the script. Platforms like ChatGPT can create the script for your video. Just add the brief, a description of the company, the style of your video, and the tone you’d like your ad to have. Or you can have ChatGPT generate some selling points for you to focus on!

If creative inspiration strikes and you write a whole script yourself, you can also ask ChatGPT to review it! Have it suggest edits, like fixing grammatical errors or making the script more engaging. You can also ask it to compare your script to the brief to make sure you’re covering all the right information.

The Editing ✂️

There are some AI software that will actually edit your video for you, either by plugging it into a template or actually making suggested cuts. CapCut, YouCut, and Adobe Premiere are just a few full-service editing software that also include AI tools (usually as part of a subscription), but a little research will uncover dozens more.

Find a software you like that can edit your videos for you. All you have to do is record the clips, choose which you like best, and upload them. The software will handle the rest, taking care of what many creators consider the most frustrating part of the content creation process. Don’t worry: you can still tweak the AI edits if you don’t love them.

The Avatar 👷‍♂️

Most content creators don’t need this feature as they’re more than comfortable being on camera. But there are quite a few platforms that will create an AI avatar to use in your ads! You choose from a library of avatars and find the best fit for your ad, then feed it your script. The software pulls it all together and generates a full ad.

Unlike the script and editing, you don’t have many customization opportunities. The avatar you choose is the avatar you get; no changing hair colors, eye colors, or even their shirt. But you can sometimes make some small alterations to the video, like changing some clips around or adding an overlay like a screenshot.

These tools sound great, right? They’re great, but they aren’t perfect. AI can be a wonderful tool for content creators, but even with recent advancements it can still make mistakes. No matter how you use AI in your creative process, we recommend double- or even triple-checking whatever it creates. Let’s go through how to review these AI generations – and what to look for!

Proofread 🔍

Don’t just use the script AI generates for you. Take some time to review the script to make sure it actually sounds human. Does the script make sense? Can you clearly follow along with what it’s saying? Does it sound compelling? Can you tell a robot wrote this?

Most of the time, it just takes one read. You’ll be able to spot any mistakes and make the necessary edits in about five minutes. But proofreading and swapping around a few words can be the difference between a viral ad and a flop ad.

Review the Edits 📼

If you watch a demo on AI editing software, you’ll see a perfectly edited video featuring smaller, perfectly edited videos. The AI didn’t create that video itself; it generated a first video, then someone went back and perfected it. So do the same with your video! Watch the AI version and take notes of any changes you want to make.

Ask yourself if the edits match with he overall tone and vibe of your video. Is the video still clear and easy to follow, or do the edits jump around? Did the AI edits leave out any clips or information you think needed to be there? This may take a little more time to fix, but it will be worth it!

Check Out the Avatar 🤓

AI avatars are far from perfect. While you might be able to get away without checking a script or video edit, you cannot skip reviewing an AI-generated avatar. We recommend watching the avatar video a few times to really get familiar with it and spot any issues it might have.

Does the avatar look and sound human the whole time? Are there any moments where it glitches? Does the avatar pronounce everything correctly? Are there any parts that just sound odd or robotic? Spend some time working with the script and the avatar to iron out the kinks. When it’s done well, an AI avatar is undetectable.

There are a ton of different AI platforms you can use for your content creation game. While we can’t comb through all of them, there are a few we recommend. ChatGPT, BuzzSumo, Refind, InVideo, and Canva to name a few. Check out this article for the full breakdown!
