We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: the ‘ber months are just better. And Thanksgiving is one of those high points. Whether you love the holiday or think it’s overrated, it’s one of the mainstays in the American holiday season. And Thanksgiving 2025 is already a trending topic – and it’s been trending since October!
That’s why you should be creating Thanksgiving 2025 content. But, when it comes to Thanksgiving videos, a lot of creators are left wondering what to post besides the turkey itself. But never fear; Clapper’s got you covered. Here are four (at minimum) videos you should post leading up to Thanksgiving 2025 – and when you should be posting them.
Before We Begin… 🍽️
A note on timing! You can post these videos whenever you like. We organized them like this because it’s technically week one, and you’ll need some time to prepare for weeks two and three’s prompts. And week four’s prompt just seemed to fit best on Thanksgiving 2025.
Week One: Your Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition 🍂
Like we said above, we’re literally in the middle of week one. So we decided to keep this quick and easy!
Share a favorite Thanksgiving tradition. Thanksgiving is rooted in tradition, and every family has their own special things they like to do. Think of something you and your family do that Thanksgiving just wouldn’t feel complete without. Do you go around the table and say what you’re thankful for? Maybe you get takeaway instead of dealing with the whole feast. Or your aunt brings a new kind of pie every year! The real festivities might be Black Friday shopping the next (or same, we don’t judge) day.
If you don’t have any traditions that stand out, share what your favorite part of Thanksgiving is. Just create a short video sharing what makes the holiday special. Bonus points if you have pictures or videos to include, too!
Week Two: Recreate Thanksgiving Recipes 🥧
Flip through your FYP (or a family cookbook) and find a recipe to share with your audience. People are searching for Thanksgiving 2025 recipes already. They have to prepare for friendsgivings, buy the ingredients, and maybe test out a recipe before the day. So sharing sooner is way better than sharing later!
You have several options for this one. The easiest route is to find or create an easy recipe to share. For a sentimental twist, share one of your favorite recipes or try creating one that looks delicious. You can even make it a challenge but recreating a harder or more advanced recipe.
Or, if you aren’t able to actually make something, share the recipes in a slideshow. Sometimes slideshows can perform even better than a video!
Week Three: Your Thanksgiving 2025 Prep 🦃
People, both creators and non-creators, have already started prepping for Thanksgiving 2025! Create a video (or a series, more on that in a minute) of what you’re prepping. What recipes have you laid out? Do you have a cooking or shopping plan in place?
If you aren’t much of a chef or baker, show us what else you’re prepping! Here are some foodless ways that you can prep for Thanksgiving.
- Outfits. If you’re a lifestyle creator, share your dos and don’ts for Thanksgiving ‘fits. Or share the options you’re thinking about.
- If you’re packing to travel somewhere this year, you can share a pack with me! Type A viewers are surprisingly passionate about packaging content.
- Playlists. Every good party needs music. Share your tips for putting together the perfect mix—or shout out some playlists that are already perfect.
- Football. Thanksgiving and football go hand in hand. Post a video highlighting what teams will be playing and which you’ll be tuning in for.
- If you’re like the Clapper team, you’re in it for the parade. Talk about the parades, what performances or floats you’re excited about, and which you’ll be watching.
- Games. A lot of families play games or have little activities they do during Thanksgiving. Take us on the journey of preparing for them, or which ones favorites in your family.
- Cleaning. Hosts are looking at their baseboards and realizing just how dusty they are. Show us your process for getting your home ready for guests. Or, if that’s too intense, tell us what you’re cleaning, why, and your schedule for getting everything ready.
- Decorating. Your mother will say cleaning and decorating are the same, but we beg to differ. If you’re decorating for Thanksgiving 2025, the community wants to see it. And us; we want to see it, please.
Week Three Part Two: Make Prep A Series 🍗
Make Thanksgiving prep a series by planning what you’ll be prepping for and creating a schedule for it. Let’s take cleaning and decorating as an example!
- Make a list of everything you need to do. What areas need to be cleaned? What big decorating needs to be done?
- Give yourself a schedule. When do you need to be decorated by? How will you break down cleaning to make it manageable?
- Generate content ideas. What will you show? What kind of prep will you share with your audience, and what will they enjoy? When will you be posting your content for this series?
- Marry the two. Put both your prep and your content plan together. If you clean your kitchen five days before (giving you time to also cook), plot out when you’ll post that video.
- Consider your timing. We recommend starting this series sooner rather than later! Week two is an ideal time, depending on what you choose.
If you don’t love a structure, you can also decide you want to do a series and just do it. As long as you know what you’re doing and when you’re starting it, that’s enough of a plan!
Week Four: What You’re Thankful For 🤎
The prep videos and recipe videos can continue into this week, too! You’ll likely still be getting ready, so it’s natural to post content about it.
But if you want something specific and timely. Create a video talking about what you’re thankful for this year. It can be simple, like the incredible meal you’re about to eat, or the family you’re spending time with. Or it can be something huge that’s happened. Thanksgiving is…well, all about giving thanks and showing gratitude. Not only is this a timely video, but a super easy one to create.
Since you made it to the end of this article, we’ll let you in on a secret. Holidays are always trending. If you aren’t incorporating them into your content strategy, you could be missing out on some serious growth opportunities. And, most importantly, the chance to create some fun content!
