Go Live, Earn Money on Clapper

Short-form video might be our OG feature, but Livestreams are kind of our bread and butter. They were one of our first features, and one that our community still can’t get enough of. Wanting to know how you can go Live and earn money too? You came to the right place.

In this article, we’ll be telling you all about Clapper Livestreams and how you can monetize them. But let’s answer a question we know you’re thinking…

Why Are Clapper Lives Better? 🤔

We’ll be honest; we’re a little biased. But going Live on Clapper is just better.

  1. You can go Live on your first day. No waiting for followers; just download the app and go Live.
  2. Our gift library is full of gifts, including limited edition and seasonal gifts.
  3. We have the lowest transaction fee on gifts, meaning you keep more of the money you earn.
  4. The community is welcoming and judgment-free, perfect for making connections.
  5. Bored with classic Lives? We have five Livestream modes, including Multi Live and PK Battles.

You can earn money in all of our Livestream formats. Whether you’re going Live solo or teaming up with your eight Clapper besties, you can earn up to $3,000 a month!

Convinced yet? Now let’s talk about how you can go Live and earn money on Clapper.

Go Live 📸

Solo Live 🤳

Going Live is a great way to connect with other creators. On a solo Live, you can show off your art, practice your new stand-up set, meal prep, and just hang out with your followers.

Multi Live 👯

On a Multi Live, you can go Live with up to eight other creators. Hosting your own version of The View? Having (polite and respectful) political discussions? Playing Bingo with your Clapper besties? A Multi Live can do it all.

Paid Multi Live (also called Spotlight) 💡

Paid Multi Live is a brand-new Livestream format! With Paid Multi Live, you can list a guest slot on your Livestream for viewers to buy. It’s perfect for an open-mic fundraiser, tarot readers, and content advice. You can answer questions, give advice, and show off your expertise, all while shining a spotlight on your viewer and getting paid. It’s a win-win-win.

PK Battles 🥊

In a PK Battle, you and another creator go head to head! The two of you join Livestreams to see who can get the most gifts before the clock runs out. Want to see who has better dance moves? Which piece of art looks better? You gotta try a PK Battle!

Shop Live 🛍️

@Mr BearGallery’s recent Shop Live!

A Shop Live lets you list items from your Clapper Shop while on Live. Even if you aren’t modeling your favorite items or showing off something you create, you can promote your Shop to your viewers. You can literally promote your Shop while you’re singing karaoke or cooking dinner.

Earn Money 💸

With Livestreams, you can start earning money from the minute you join Clapper. How? Gifts! Viewers can send you gifts to show support throughout your Livestream.

Whether they just love your vibe or want you to win a PK Battle, your audience can choose from hundreds of Livestream gifts. While it’s ultimately up to them to send gifts, there are a few things you can do to encourage them.

  1. Update your wishlist. If your wishlist has a mix of almost completed and new gifts you want, viewers will be inspired to gift.
  2. Have an activity. Actively do or work on something that will keep viewers engaged. If they find it interesting, they’re more likely to give to show support.
  3. Give in return. Go into a friend or follower’s Live and send them some gifts! They’ll likely want to return the favor in your next Live.
  4. Seasonal Live events. Host themed Lives during the seasons. It’ll encourage viewers to send seasonal or limited edition gifts.
  5. Literally remind them. It doesn’t hurt to remind viewers to gift once and a while! Just don’t do it all the time or act like you expect it.

Keep Your Lives Alive 🔥

Overall, making sure your lives are exciting and engaging means viewers will be more likely to gift. And exciting, engaging Lives require more than just pressing start. You might be the world’s best singer or the funniest comedian on Clapper, but there are some extra things you can do to keep your Lives engaging. We even use them in our official Clapper Lives!

Post About Your Live 🎞️

Create a video telling your followers when you’ll be going Live next. Post it a day or two in advance so they have time to see it and join!

Go Live Consistently ⏰

If you can, pick a day and time each week or month that you’ll go Live. Followers will expect it and know when to tune in. You can even add it to your bio or intro video.

Have a Plan 📝

Whether you have every minute planned out or just a rough agenda, know what you’ll do in your Livestream. It helps you stay on track. Bonus points if you give the audience a brief overview; it’ll keep them interested!

Go Live for an Hour ☝️

…minimum. We recommend going Live for an hour or two at a time. You have time to not only get into everything you want, but also have fun with the audience and get viewers in the Live.

Respond in Real Time 💬

Keep an eye on the chat and respond to viewers! If you find constantly checking the chat overwhelming, designate time in your Live to address the chat – every five or ten minutes works.

Include an Activity 🏓

While going Live and talking can be so fun, try to have a clear activity for your Live. Whether that’s reading, singing karaoke, decorating cakes, or wood-working, give the audience something to follow.

Livestreaming and earning money are like riding a bike; you get better the more you do it. You may not earn much (or any) money during your first Livestream, but don’t let that stop you! You’ll develop your own formula and find hosting tips that work best for you. Just be patient and have fun with your viewers!
