4 Ways to Find Your Online Community at Clapper

Everything is digital now. It’s all moved online from depositing checks and storing files to looking for directions and “clipping” coupons. That includes third spaces and finding your community! At Clapper, we make it easy to find your online community. It’s why we were founded in the first place.

In this article, we’re sharing the four ways you can find your online community on Clapper. And, spoiler alert, the last one will help you broaden your horizons, too!

Step 1: FYP and Hashtags 🎞️🌟

One of the best ways to find your community is to scroll the FYP! Once our equal opportunity algorithm understands the kind of content you enjoy, it will start feeding you more of it. So just by scrolling, liking, and disliking content, you’re finding your community!

You can take it one step further by searching for specific hashtags. If you want to find a community, search for its most common hashtags on the Explore page. Start liking the content you enjoy, and check out the creators that catch your eye. The more videos you like, the more creators you follow, the more quickly you’ll find your community.

Step 2: Group Chats 📱💬

Once you start following creators, you enter the next stage of community hunting: Group chats! A lot of creators on Clapper will have a Group chat or two already set up. When you find a new creator you like, see if they have a Group chat that interests you!

Join and introduce yourself to the other creators. Start chatting with them and take part in any community discussions or events. Be sure to follow any creators you get along with or really like! You may want to join their Groups too.

Step 3: Profile Tags 🏷️🗃️

Clapper makes finding your community extra easy with Profile Tags! You can add up to twenty preset or customizable tags to your profile and use them to connect with other creators. Just tap the Profile Tag you want to explore, and you’ll find every creator with that same tag.

And, just like before, scroll through and see who catches your eye. Follow anyone who looks interesting or whose content you like. Your Profile Tags will also prioritize creators who share multiple Profile Tags with you, so it’s easy to find your Clapper bestie! You can even shoot these creators a DM and introduce yourself.

Step 4: Livestreams and Radios 🎙️📻

The last way to find your community on Clapper is much more widespread, but it’s pretty interactive! When you have some time, scroll through the active Livestreams and Radios to see what everyone’s talking about. Spend a few minutes just listening, then join the conversation if it sounds fun. Or keep scrolling if not!

If you’re lucky, you may get invited to be on the Live or Radio! If not, that’s totally fine. You can still follow any of the hosts or other viewers you like and start the connection that way. This is the least direct way to find your community, but it gets you thinking outside the box. You’ll meet new creators that you wouldn’t have otherwise and find entirely new communities to be part of.

Wrapping Up 🎁

The main thing you need to remember when looking for your community is that you have to put yourself out there. It can take a little time to find the corner of Clapper you’re looking for, and once you do find it, you’ll have to start the conversation. Whether that’s through a video, a comment, or a DM, you’ll have to channel your inner extrovert and just start talking to people.

Don’t be scared, though! The whole point of social media is to be social. And who doesn’t love hearing someone likes their content? So, whichever method you decide to try, dive in and don’t be shy.
