In this article, we’ll go over the five ways to monetize your Clapper account. Start small and choose one, or go big and juggle all five.
1. Receive Gifts on Lives, Videos, and More 🎁
Most platforms want you to meet a certain follower threshold before you go Live. On Clapper, you can go Live as soon as you create your account. In fact, we see tons of new creators on Livestreams every day, often saying they just downloaded the app that morning and are checking everything out. The same is true about videos; most of our creators dive in and start creating content on the first day! And our audio-only streams, Radios, are pretty popular, too.
All of them have the option to send or receive gifts. We update our gift library often, with seasonal gifts and campaign-specific gifts. Our dice gift and drink or dare gift even act as a Livestream game! Gifts are by far the most popular and easiest way to monetize content.
2. Open a Clapper Shop 🛒
We launched our Shop feature back in November 2021 and wanted to make it more accessible than other e-commerce apps or integrations. There are no follower thresholds to meet, no charges to open a Shop or list an item, and our transaction fee is lower than other platforms. You can even host a Shop Live to promote your products from a Livestream!
And there’s no limit to what you can list! You can add listings for shout-outs, video requests, and other content-centric products. If you’ve got an ebook, a PDF, or other digital products, they can go up for sale in your Shop. DIYers and artists can list the things they create in their Shop. A lot of our Shop owners offer merch or special items in their Clapper Shop only. Exclusive offerings make people more likely to buy!
3. Set Up Exclusive Group Chats 🗨️
Group chats have been a Clapper Fam favorite since they launched! They let you engage with all of your followers in real time and gives them the chance to connect with each other. After our most recent Group chat updates, creators can now open up to ten Group chats – including paid chats!
A paid Group chat is the best way to stay connected with your most loyal followers. You can share memes, host Q&As, drop videos a day early, and so much more. The best part? Your followers are getting to talk with you. Your followers are as interested in you as they are in your content.
4. Create Your Clapper Fam Tiers 🏆
Fam Tiers is one of the OG ways to monetize your content on Clapper! You can create up to three tiers of monthly subscriptions so followers can support you. Fam Tiers come pre-loaded with a ton of different benefits, but you can customize them, too.
You have full creative freedom over your Fam Tiers; you can offer your followers whatever you think they’ll like! Here are some offerings we recommend:
- Merch discounts
- Access to a private Group chat
- See videos a day early
- Weekly subscriber Livestreams
- Video shout-outs
We recommend actually asking your followers what they want to see in your subscription tiers! They’ll give you some really good ideas. We also recommend asking about their budget and keeping that in mind while you set up your tiers.
5. Host a Paid Multi Live (or Spotlight) 💡
One of our newest features is Paid Multi Lives, also called Spotlight! Paid Multi Lives lets creators throw up a mini store listing for a little time in their Live. Hosts can set a price and write a description of what they’ll do during this time, and interested viewers can buy it. A Paid Multi Live is a great way to share the spotlight and connect with your audience.
What can you offer in a Paid Multi Live? Anything you can do over a Clapper Livestream! It’s perfect for tarot readers and astrology experts, yoga instructors and nutritionists, and creator Q&As or AMAs. If you could offer it over FaceTime or a Zoom call, you can offer it on a Paid Multi Live.
