We’ve covered verification a few different times, and with good reason. It’s one of the most common questions we’re asked! Verification on any platform can be confusing – maybe even misleading. That’s why we want to make Clapper verification accessible for creators, no matter their reason for creating content. You shouldn’t have to jump through hoops or meet impossible standards to get verified. We simplified our process to make sure all hard-working, dedicated creators can achieve their verification.
But creators still have questions. What does original mean? What format should my videos be? How many views do you need on your videos?

So we enlisted the help of @FortunatelyFemmes, better known as Dr. Betty. A femprenuer and bestselling author, Betty’s a leader of our Haitian community. She went through the verification process and is helping other creators find their footing. Who better to give us a creator’s eye view of Clapper verification?
Grab a napkin and your favorite biscuits: Dr. Betty is spilling the tea on all things Clapper verification.
Hey Fam, let’s talk verification!
If you’re a Haitian creator like me trying to navigate Clapper’s Blue Check verification process, buckle up—because I’m spilling all the tea. No fluff, no filters! Just real talk about what works and what doesn’t when you’re trying to get verified on Clapper.
1. Original Content Only 🏆
Let’s get this straight: Clapper wants YOU. Not a TikTok remix. Not your cousin’s Facebook reel. The video you submit for verification must be:
- Made by you
- Filmed directly for Clapper
- Not recycled from another platform
Clapper is big on originality, so create something new. Say your name, wave hello, speak your truth—be you.
2. Filters? Let’s Clear That Up
Okay, here’s the deal: Filters aren’t evil, but they can be misleading. Clapper’s verification team wants to see the real you, not the ultra-smoothed, sparkle-eyed avatar version.
Now hear me out. Wearing makeup is not the same as using a filter. Put on your lashes, line your lips, beat that face if you want—but avoid digital filters that totally change how you look.
Think of it this way: if someone met you in person after watching your content, would they recognize you? If the answer’s no, dial it back.
To summarize, be you whatever that looks like. Presentable and polished, casual and a bit brash. Be you, just unfiltered.
3. Can You Verify Two Accounts? 🤔
Short answer: Yes…but also no.
Clapper allows users to verify one account at a time, usually your main creator account. If you run a second page (say, for a business or brand), that account will need its own unique identity and content. And don’t even try to sneak around by duplicating the same content on both accounts. Clapper’s smarter than that.
💡 Insider Tip: Users can have up to three accounts.
4. Video Format Clapper-Style 📸
Your video doesn’t have to be Hollywood-level, but here’s the ideal format:
- Vertical video (hold that phone straight up)
- 6.5 seconds to 3 minutes
- Use your voice—no voiceovers or text-to-speech
- Good lighting, no background noise, no heavy filters.
Clapper’s not only looking for original content, but quality content. This format is the cornerstone of quality content. Use whatever sounds you want, edit however you want, but make sure your video is of quality!
5. Can You Delete Videos? 🗑️
Yes, you can delete your videos, but there’s one major exception. Do not delete any video that’s currently being reviewed for verification.
It might alter your average views, your engagement rate, or mean that you no longer have enough videos on your profile to apply for verification. Play it safe: don’t delete any videos on your profile while you’re waiting for your verification to be approved.
6. The 5K Myth 👀
Let’s bust the biggest myth in the Clapper streets: “All you need is one video with 5,000 views to get the blue check Verification.”
Wrong! Clapper’s algorithm is smarter than that. What they’re really looking for is an average of 5,000 views across your videos in the last 30 days.
Why? Clapper wants their verified creators with real, meaningful community interactions. They want to reward creators who are consistently engaging with their community. Creators like you who are on Clapper for the community. Not just creators who are looking for easy fame.
Final Thoughts From Your Fellow Creator 🧠
Verification on Clapper isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present, consistent, and real.
As a Haitian creator, you have something unique to offer—your voice, your culture, your perspective. Don’t hide it. Lean into it. And remember: the Blue Check isn’t the goal—it’s the byproduct of showing up as your authentic self and connecting with your community.
So, from one creator to another…keep it real. Keep it fresh. And keep creating.
Now that Betty’s given you the creator’s eye view of applying for verification on Clapper, let’s talk about what happens after.
Once you apply for verification, the Clapper team will review your application. We’ll look through your application and the content you’ve shared on Clapper. Like Betty said, we’re looking for originality, consistency, and quality. Our process is pretty thorough and can take some time.
How long will it take? That depends on a few things.
- The number of people applying for verification.
- Which verification you applied for.
- How many videos you have on your account.
Generally, verification can take anywhere from a week to a few months. There’s no standard. You’ll be in line with other creators, and we’ll try to work through verification applications as they come in. But if you get stuck behind someone with an extensive content library…it may take some time.
If a few weeks or months have gone by and you haven’t heard back, DM us ClapperCreator or ClapperAcademy. We can’t speed up the process, but we can let the verification team know you’re asking for an update!
