Whether you’re busy juggling a bunch of different responsibilities, you need a break, or you just can’t think of anything, getting new video ideas can be a challenge. You get a creative block and just can’t break through.

And while we can’t give you a literal hammer, we can give you a few figurative ones. Here are five easy video ideas you can use when you’re in a rut. Not only are they quick and easy, but your audience won’t even know you’re taking a short cut.

Share some of the things you’ve been loving in your niche. These could be cooking tools or recipes for a chef, books or playlists for a reader, and productivity tools for a lifestyle creator. People are always looking for a way to up their game, no matter their niche. Sharing some of the things that you’ve been loving or reaching for is always a crowd pleaser.

Share a few projects or prompts you want to work on! Chefs can share meals they want to cook, a cinephile can discuss movies they’re planning to watch next, and a woodworker can talk about what’s next on their bench. Tell us why you want to work on it and maybe what sparked your interest.

Tips and Tricks 🧠

Keep a running list of tips and tricks you can share with your followers. They don’t have to be ground-breaking; you can share some easy tips for people starting in your niche. Not only will this help you reach new followers, but sometimes advice you’ve heard a thousand times is actually new for people.

Here’s an example, but don’t feel like you have to show everything like this creator does. Even just a video of you talking to the camera and sharing a tip or two will be great!

B-Roll and Audio 📸

If you have b-roll at the ready, pair it with a fun audio or a quote about your niche! This is a super easy video strategy that can take a few minutes to put together. Even if you don’t have b-r0ll handy, recording it can take under five minutes. Ten minutes if you’re really trying to get something interesting.

Redo Old Posts ♻️

Go back into your old videos (at least a year) and find an old video to recreate or react to. You can talk about how much your process has changed or what you would do differently now.

If you’re really strapped for him, repost an old video that performed super well. Be sure to mention, either in your caption or as text on the video, that you’re resharing it. While this might seem counterproductive, it can actually be really effective. You know this video performed, so it’s likely to reach a large audience. And your followers likely won’t remember this video – and even if they do, they’ll enjoy seeing it again!
