Clapper’s biggest feature launch ever is finally here! Clapper Clubs is the newest space for online communities and connections. Create and explore your own community corners where you can share text, pictures, and videos with creators who share your interests. No interest, hobby, or passion is too niche for Clapper Clubs.

Join the (Clapper) Club 💬
Clapper Clubs are another way for you to find community and connect with other creators. You have the freedom to create any kind of Club you want. Including that niche interest no one else seems to care about. Trust us; you’re not the only one who’s obsessed with it.
With Clapper Clubs, you can create a community around anything. Get food advice from your favorite Clapper chefs. Share your songs and get feedback from other musicians. Now you can finally understand why every plant you touch dies in our gardening Club. And find a Club you want to join? We personally think that’s impossible! However, you can start your own Club!
Whatever you’re into, whatever you want to build, there’s room for you.
Finding Your Club 🧡
The first step is checking out what online communities are already thriving in Clubs. Finding (and exploring) Clubs is easy!
- Open the Clapper app.
- Tap the microscope button along the bottom.
- Now you’re in the Explore page! It should open to the Club feed, where you can scroll through all Clapper Club posts.
- Tap the magnifying glass in the top corner.
- Type in a keyword for the niche or interest you’re looking for.
- We’ll show you all the Clubs related to your search.
- Tap a Club to check it out. Scroll through all the posts people have made.
- Hit the orange “Join” button in the top right corner.
From there, you can start engaging! Like a post, leave a comment, or even introduce yourself. Just be sure to read the Club rules before you start.
What About Livestreams?! 😱
Don’t worry; there’s still a Livestream Explore page for you to…explore! At the top of the Club feed, you’ll see a small toggle between Clubs and Lives. Just tap Lives to see who is Live now!
Starting Your Club 📣
It doesn’t matter how old we are; we all love a new toy. You want to get in there and figure out how it works for yourself. Or maybe you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to start a Titanic (the ship, not the movie) enthusiasts club. (Drop the link, please, we’d love to join!)
Let’s walk through how to create your own Club.
- Open the Clapper app.
- Tap the microscope button along the bottom.
- Now you’re in the Explore page! It should open to the Club feed.
- Tap the world icon in the top right corner.
- Fill out the name, image, description, and rules for your Club. You can go back and change all of this later.
- Hit the orange “Create” button.
- Share an intro post for new community members! Tell them about yourself and get the conversation started.
Don’t forget: there’s no Club too niche. You can create a Club based on any interest you want to build an online community around.
Clubs vs Group Chats 🤔
Long-time or established Clapper creators might be wondering what the difference is between a Club and a Group. Aren’t they both for online communities? Can’t you share messages and images in a Group chat?
And you’re not entirely wrong. Clapper Clubs and Group chats are both hubs for your online communities. But they serve totally different purposes.
Group chats are instant, more personalized, and better for a creator-centered community. This is where you can (and should) connect with your followers 24/7, one-on-one. People have to go to your profile to find your Group, and often they have to be approved. And it’s one long stream of conversation where everyone is involved.
Clapper Clubs are more widespread. This is a space where you can create or join a Club dedicated to an interest. You’re still able to connect with other creators one-on-one, but multiple conversations are happening at once. If you don’t care about one post, you can ignore it and find another! Clubs are all public, so anyone can find and join them.
In short, Group chats are for you to connect with your followers. Clubs are for you to connect with creators from all across the app based on a hobby or interest.
