The Best Star Wars Movies According to Clapper Creators

Hello young Padawans! We are excited to celebrate this Star Wars holiday with you all in the best way possible: Rating the best Star Wars movies. We had a long debate amongst our team in what the best Star Wars movies would be for this feature. However, before we went to the dark side, we decided to leave it to our accomplices, the Clapper creators, to help us with this very hard decision.

The Star Wars Legacy began in 1977 and, since then, has grown into not just a movie saga, but as a cultural phenomenon. In 1974, a UK journalist wrote on a headline “May the 4th be with you, Maggie”, referring to the famous slogan, “May The Force Be With You”, that the Jedi say to each other in all the Star Wars movies. This little play on words, soon was picked up by social media and it became the official Star Wars holiday.

Today on May 4th, we want to encourage Star Wars oldest and newest fans to re-watch the saga and enjoy the true essence of the force in this special day. If you don’t know where to start, we had our most devoted fans on Clapper vote on their favorite and best Star Wars movies. So, let’s break it down.

The Last Jedi

The Last Jedi was chosen by the majority of our creators as the best Star Wars film of all times. For old time fans, this movie brought up so many good memories from their childhood. The fact that we got to continue the stories of Luke and Leia and their family years later really got everyone dying to watch this comeback film.

Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

Two movies tight for the second place of the best Star Wars movie. The Return of the Jedi was definitely always a fan favorite. Especially, the scene of java and Leia with her iconic slave outfit. If you want to start with something, start with this film to find out why Leia became the most used Halloween costume ever.

Episode IV: A New Hope

The next film tight on 2nd place is A New Hope. How could it not? For most of us this was the first look into the Star Wars world. We were introduced to the Jedi, the force, the action fights in space, and most importantly, the lightsabers.

Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

In 3rd place, we got three finalists. The first one was The Empire Strikes Back. This film action scenes in the ice planet Hoth are everything you could want of a Star Wars film. What makes this movie so special is that we finally get introduced to our dearest Yoda, when he trains Luke Skywalker to face his father. All we have left to say about this movie is:

“Through the Force, things you will see.”

Yoda, The Empire Strikes Back

Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Going back to the origins of Darth Vader was one of the smartest, most exciting things Star Wars could have done. The Phantom Menace is the second movie tight in 3rd place. For any beginners, this is where the story chronologically begun. We meet a young Anakin before he became Darth Vader. This is a good movie to start, if you haven’t seen any of the other films.

The Force Awakens

Lastly, The Force Awakens was also tight in 3rd place. After 10 years of thinking the saga was over, Lucas Films came back with brand new movie with many beloved old characters and they gave us a look into how their lives turned out years later. Definitely an awaited film in history.
