There’s no secret formula for content creation. There’s no one thing you can do to make you a successful creator. But if you watch enough vlogs, enough day-in-the-life content, or enough advice videos, you’ll notice a few similarities. In fact, a lot of successful creators share a few daily habits.
Here are five daily habits of successful creators and influencers you should implement. Or at least try out. You may be surprised to find you’re already doing a few of them.
1. Journaling 📝

You’d be surprised how many successful people in any industry journal daily. The cool thing about journaling is that you don’t have to follow a specific method and don’t have to write about a specific topic. The best thing is that no one has to see it; you can literally jot down anything you need to without judgment.
With journaling, the main thing is just getting your mind onto the paper. You can write about your content, about something that’s bothering you, or even script your videos ahead of time. The whole point is to free up space in your head and get your creative juices flowing. It’s also a flexible daily habit: you can dedicate five minutes to it, or write until you run out of things to say.
If you aren’t sure where or how to begin, here are five questions to ask yourself when you sit down to journal.
- What am I most excited to accomplish today?
- What have I been drawn to or inspired by lately?
- If I could change anything about my content, what would it be? How could I go about changing it?
- What’s something that’s making you angry or anxious?
- Set a timer; write about the first things that come to mind. Don’t stop, just keep writing.
If all else fails, write about your content. Reflect on what you’re creating, how it makes you feel, and what you think of social media as a whole. Check out this video for more journaling tips and techniques!
2. Audience Engagement 🧡
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: if you aren’t taking time to engage with your audience, what are you doing? Even the mega-influencers carve out time to engage with their followers. Whether that’s five or ten minutes of responding to comments and following people back, or going live for an hour, it’s important you take a little time each day to connect with your community.
It’s an easy habit to forget or think nothing of, but will help you so much. The more you engage with your audience, the more they’ll care about you and your content. That means more views and more followers, which is basically candy to the algorithm. It’ll push your content further, which again means a new audience, more views, and more followers. The cycle repeats and gets more fun when you want to connect with sponsors and brand partners.

3. Scroll 📱
You might not think it, but the best creators spend a good bit of time scrolling their FYP. It’s one of the easiest daily habits to incorporate! Whether it’s the primary app they post on or an app they just enjoy using, creators are constantly looking for inspiration. Spend some time scrolling your FYP or watching YouTube videos and make note of what you find interesting.
If you want to be a little more strategic with your scrolling, try narrowing your search by literally using the search bar. Here are some ways to strategically use your FYP when looking for new content.
Niche Hashtags ✨
Check in with some hashtags in your niche each day. You’ve got to keep up with your community!
Trending Hashtags ✨
Try to find the top trending hashtags from all across your chosen social media. What are people enjoying? What can you get in on?
Hint: Social listening tools can help with this!
Followers’ Content ✨
It’s a good idea to look through your followers’ content, just to see what they like or what they create. You might find someone you want to connect with! But at the very least, you’ll know your audience better.
New Niches ✨
Spend some time looking at other niches that you’re interested in. Want to get into crafting? Politics? See what that space is like!
In general, though, taking time to scroll through your FYP will help you stay inspired and find new kinds of content to create. There’s no need to be strategic or intentional! Just keep your creative eye open.

4. Time Block ⏰
Chances are, you’re probably time-blocking without you knowing. Time blocking is when you give yourself a certain window of time to accomplish something; you have an hour to finish this task for today. If you get done, great! If not, too late. You move on to the next thing until you have time to circle back.

5. Pause 😮💨
No matter the niche, successful creators always take a little time for themselves. Whether that’s watching a TV show, cooking and eating dinner with their family, or going for a “hot girl walk”, creators always take a moment to unplug. This is especially important for creators who are balancing a full-time job and content creation.
Contrary to what you might think, not every moment can be, needs to be, or should be productive. Too much productivity can actually make you burn out; you’ll lose the motivation to create. Even if content creation is how you unwind, you need some time away from it. Find a little time each day to take a breather and do something else. You’ll find you have more creative energy and drive.
Meditation can be a great way to pause! Check out this video for an introduction.
As we said up top, no one habit or method makes you a successful creator. You don’t have to do all five daily habits to become a successful creator. Instead, test out adding one or two new ones to your current method. Maybe you don’t time-block, but it sounds like it would help. Introduce something new into your routine and see if it helps.
