We get a lot of questions about shadow banning and Clapper. Today, we’re setting the record straight. Let’s talk about getting shadow banned on Clapper.
Does Clapper Shadow Ban? 👤
No, you cannot get shadow banned on Clapper. We don’t penalize creators by restricting their views or keeping them from the FYP.
We’re an app for adults; we want you to have harder conversations and to share your opinions on difficult topics. You won’t get shadow banned for discussing politics or showing off your newest gun; Clapper is a safe space to share all your interests.
Now that we’ve established that Clapper doesn’t shadow ban, let’s talk about what might be happening.
Not Engaging 🙅
Community is the foundation of Clapper. To be a successful creator, you have to engage with the community. If you feel like your views have been declining recently, reflect on how you’ve been interacting with your audience. Have you been responding to their comments? Have you been checking out their videos? Try engaging with your audience again.
New Content ✨
Have you tried posting something outside of the norm? If you’re dipping your toe into a new niche, chances are your audience needs time to catch up! Or your audience might not be interested in the content you’re trying out. That’s fine; you’ll just have to wait until your new audience comes along!
Until then, keep posting your original content and engaging with your long-time followers. It will help boost your new content and keep your views up!
Breaking Guidelines ⛓️💥
Clapper is a platform for creators 17+, which means we can be a little lax on our community guidelines. But that doesn’t mean you can break them! Breaking our guidelines could result in an official ban or a probation period. Depending on the severity and consistency of the violation, you might not be able to go Live, post, or even log into Clapper. But if you break out guidelines, we’ll let you know. We’ll never ban your account or flag you for violations without letting you know.

What About Politics? 🤔
Unlike other platforms, discussing politics won’t get you shadow banned on Clapper. In fact, a lot of our biggest creators are highly political! You also don’t have to worry about aligning with the platform or our moderation team; we don’t ban creators for having different politics from us.
What About Swearing or Cursing? 🤬
You won’t get shadow banned for using foul language on Clapper. Hell, even we do! Feel free to use whatever “bad” or “inappropriate” language you want.
The only language we don’t allow is hate speech or bullying. Engaging in either will earn you a violation or ban, depending on the severity of the violation and your history as a creator. But, again, we’ll never ban you without letting you know what you’ve done.
What About NSFW Content? 😎
This is where it can get a little tricky. Creators are prohibited from performing sexually explicit acts or nudity on Clapper. This includes reenacting sexual acts. Violating this community guideline could result in a ban or a flag on your account.

Clapper doesn’t shadow ban. Point blank period. You can get banned for violating our community guidelines, but we’ll never suppress your views. If it looks like you might be shadow banned, reevaluate your content and how you’re engaging with your community. That usually solves your problems!
