Everything You Need For Your Clapper Verification

Verification, no matter your platform, is a little complicated. Not only do you have to qualify, but you’re usually asked to submit some kind of supporting documents. Clapper verification is no different. In this article, we’ll be sharing a checklist of everything you need to apply for Creator and Blue Check verification.

The Engagement 👀

The main thing you have to have is the minimum engagement. If you don’t have that, there’s no use even getting the rest of the documents together.

To apply for verification, you’ll need:

  • at least 3k followers
  • at least 1 video over 3k views
  • at least 7 videos created in the last 30 days

In your Creator Space, you should be able to see when you’ve reached all of these requirements. But it doesn’t hurt to double-check for yourself!

Identity Verifiers 🪪

This is the basic element of social media verification; we have to verify who you are. It first started with celebrities, so no one could use their name and pictures to commit fraud. But now we want every well-known creator to verify their identity.

Don’t worry; we’re not asking for your social security and/or credit card. We just want something tangible that proves your identity. This could be a photocopy of your ID or an offer letter from your job. Something that proves this is you.

Professional Certifications 🏆

If you’re applying for Creator verification, you’ll be asked to select a niche or community to be verified in. This should align with the content you create. Depending on your community, you might be asked to submit some additional professional documents.

Why? We ask for these documents to ensure that, if you’re claiming to be an expert in something, you have the education to back it up. That doesn’t mean that you have to have gone to pastry school to be verified as a baker. If you’ve been stacking up wins at the county fair, that counts too!

Here are some kinds of professional certifications we accept:

  • an employer letter
  • a business card
  • a vocational certificate
  • award or medal

When applying for verification, you’ll be asked to upload a picture of your professional documents. Have them ready before you apply so the process is easier!

Creator Verification 🧡

On Clapper, you cannot get your Blue Check without first getting your Creator Verification. Many creators wait until they meet the Blue Check verification requirements to apply, because that’s how it works on other platforms. But on Clapper, we want you to be a verified creator before you can reach your Blue Check.

Why? Creator verification lets you verify your identity and your credentials in a specific community. Blue Check identifies your status as a significant creator across the platform. Also, not every creator wants to reach their Blue Check verification. A lot of creators are happy to be leaders in their niche or community and don’t want the responsibility (or pressure) of having a huge platform. With Creator verification, macro-influencers are still able to shine and get recognized for their hard work.

“Originals” 🎥

This one is more optional, but might ultimately help you. We recommend having the original clips or versions of some of your content. Across social media, there’s been an influx of people stealing and reposting videos as their own. Our team is looking at content with an even sharper magnifying glass, trying to see if it adds value to the community and is original.

It’s unlikely you’ll be asked to provide proof that your content is yours. But, just in case, having some original files on hand will be more than helpful. And it’ll speed up an already long process.

Because our team reviews each individual application in depth, the review timeline can vary. On the shorter end, it can take two weeks, but some applications might need further review.
