5 Ways to Boost Your Clapper Engagement

Community and engagement on Clapper are everything. Our most successful creators focus on building a tight-knit community and connecting with their followers. Community engagement is how you grow because going out of your way to connect with your community shows you care. It feels more like a friendship instead of just content on the FYP. People are more likely to engage with you if you engage with them, and it makes you feel more like a human than a digital creator.

But figuring out where to start is the hardest part. That’s why today, we’re sharing five ways to boost your community engagement on Clapper.

Community Basics 🫶

We’ve covered community boosts and engagement several times before. There are some basic tips that we won’t be sharing again. Not because we don’t think they’re worth sharing – they are! But because we want to give you some new information to use.

Optimize your hashtags. Choose the best ones to represent your video and niches to ensure it reaches the right audience.

Post authentic, high-quality content. If your content is unique and well-made, people will be more likely to engage.

Have a consistent schedule. You’ll likely create more content, which means you’ll appear on more people’s FYP.

Know your audience. If you’re always delivering content they want, they’ll keep engaging.

Find an ideal posting time. Run some tests and see if there’s a time when your content gets more engagement.

Now let’s get onto the new stuff.

Engage with Your Followers ❤️

While replying to as many of your comments as possible is a fantastic way to boost engagement, going out and engaging meaningfully with your followers’ content will give you a huge boost. Scroll through your followers and check out their content. You can even do the same with your Profile Tags! Tap into some of your faves and find creators you might be interested in connecting with. If they create content you like or seem fun, give them a follow and drop a few likes. Comment on their videos when they pop up during your scrolls.

Utilize Your (and Others’) Groups 🗫

Group chats are one of the best tools for boosting engagement with your community. But there’s more than one way to do it!

Your Community

For your community and followers, you can start a Group where you share your newest videos or your Livestream schedule. Now with the option to create multiple Groups, you can set up a private Group where you share video ideas with your most engaged followers, or a paid Group that gets early access to videos! These Groups could also be used to brainstorm new ideas or start fun challenges!

Someone Else’s Group

If you haven’t already, see if your favorite creators have a Group chat of their own and join in. You’re not here to drop videos or promote your content; you’re joining this Group chat to make friends! Have fun and get to know the other people in the chat. Making friends in this community will draw people to your content and help you reach new followers outside of your niches. Plus, you get to meet some fun people and get inspired by their content!

Ask a Question 🤔

The easiest way to boost engagement is to ask a question, either at the end of the video or in the caption. It prompts your viewers to engage and does the work of starting the conversation for them. We recommend asking something relevant to the video and would be fairly easy for people to respond to. Ideally, it’ll be thought-provoking enough that tons of conversations will start in the comments! Here are some basic examples to get you started.

  • “Who else has experienced something like this?”
  • “What would you have done differently in this situation?”
  • “What’s your take on this hot topic?”
  • “Have you ever been here or tried this? Share your stories!”
  • “How would you style this outfit/music track/art piece differently?”
  • “If you could add one thing to this recipe, what would it be?”
  • “Is pineapple on pizza a yes or a no? Fight it out in the comments!”
  • “What topics do you want me to cover in future videos?”

Hold Contests or Giveaways 🏆

Brands do this all the time, and not just because it’s fun. Contests and giveaways are a great way to get people excited about your content, and if you brand them just right, can help you reach new people. Try hosting a contest related to your content: a chef could have people recreate a recipe or share their favorite food memory. As a giveaway, they may ask people to Clapback a video for the chance to win a new set of pots and pans or knives. You get to determine the rules and prizes. Just make sure it helps spread the word about you and your content!

Create Shareable Content 📸

It’s not the easiest method, but this is a surefire way to boost your engagement. Shareable content is content that encourages viewers to share it with their friends or on other platforms. It’s typically concise, high-quality content that’s educational or entertaining. Shareable content is also relatable and easy for viewers to grasp. Think: a simple video with a short audio and a funny headline.

Shareable content will immediately improve your engagement. Viewers and followers will start sharing your content, and you’ll gain new followers. It may take some extra work, but you’ll see success right away. We’ve talked about shareable content before and you can read more about creating it here!

Why Improve Engagement? 📈

For creators looking to grow their community and earn money as a content creator, improving engagement and reaching new viewers is a must. It can also help you grow and improve as a content creator. As you try to reach new followers and test out different kinds of content, your content and creation process will grow and improve, too.
