Everything You Know About the Clapper App is a Lie

Just like your favorite influencer, we’re here to address the rumors. We’re “breaking our silence” and dispelling some of the myths you might have heard about the Clapper app. So grab a mug and a few napkins, because today we’re spilling the tea.

1. The Clapper app is owned by TikTok. 🤯

We get this one a lot, but it’s just not true! Clapper isn’t owned by TikTok, ByteDance, or any of its subsidiaries. We were founded by Edison Cehn in 2020 and are a totally unique platform. Our founder and CEO was even nominated for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year award this year!

2. Monetizing on the Clapper app is a scam! 🤑

Not everything is too good to be true. Sometimes, it really is just that good! Monetization on Clapper is one of them. Instead of working to get into a creator fund and only making money on your videos, our creators can monetize their content and start earning from day one. 3. Clapper only has adult content. 🫣

This is a pretty common misconception, due almost entirely to a misunderstanding. We’re a platform made for adults 17+, not an adult platform; they’re totally different things. While we do have more lax community guidelines since we’re a platform for adults, we don’t allow sexually explicit or NSFW content.

4. The Clapper app is stealing my data! 🥸

Absolutely not! Your privacy is our top priority, and we’ve taken steps since the beginning to protect it. We only collect the data we need to keep the app functioning and protect your data. All of the data we collect is stored in the US and complies with the US government’s regulations and Apple and Google’s regulations. Since we’re available on their app store, we’re subject to their scrutiny and investigation, too!

5. You can go viral right away. 🤩

Can you go viral on any platform right away? It’s kind of impossible; sadly, we aren’t an exception! You can’t go viral on Clapper right away, but you can start building a community and gaining traction on your content on the first day.

Clapper is all about community, so you must connect with the platform’s other creators. It’s the best way to grow on Clapper. For your content to pop off, you’ll need to start liking videos, leaving comments, and following other creators.
