There are so many ways to connect with your community on Clapper, but Radios are the most unique. Clapper Radio lets followers see a whole new side of you. This feature allows you to connect directly with your audience, accept gifts, and invite guests, even if you’re feeling camera-shy!
But, since you’re unlikely to find something like Radios on other platforms, using it for the first time can feel a little intimidating. We’re here to make this feature a little less scary. This article will explain what Clapper Radio is, how you can monetize them, and more!
What is a Radio❓🤔
Think of Clapper Radios like a radio show or live podcast: the host goes live with only their audio. Hosts can bring up listeners to chat with and listeners can send gifts or request to come up. A lot of our users make their Radios a catch-up or mini-interview series and bring up audience members to chat. We’ll talk more about this below, but first, let’s take a look at…
Starting a Radio 🎬📻
- Open Clapper. You should immediately be on your For You Page. At the bottom of the screen, there will be a plus sign icon.
- Click the plus sign. A menu will pop up with three buttons: one for Live, one for Video, and on the left, one for Radio. Select it.
- Once you select “Radio”, you’ll be taken to another page. On this page, you’ll be able to see your profile picture and name and be able to create a title for your Radio. There are also two, quick tips for hosting a radio. Once you’re ready, click “Start Radio”.
- A final menu will come up, going over the basic community guidelines for Radios. You’ll be prompted to agree to three rules: you won’t allow hate speech, you won’t allow harassment or bullying, and you’ve reviewed the community guidelines. Once you agree to all three, there’ll be a quick countdown, and boom, you’re live!
Guests 👯🧡
Once you start your radio, your followers can join in. During the radio, they’ll be allowed to raise their hand and request to speak. If you accept their request, they’ll be moved into a speaker role and you can chat with them directly. You can leave them up as long as you want, either until you answer their question or for the rest of the radio.
There is no chat feature in Clapper Radios, so right now the way to talk with your viewers is by inviting them up. This creates a much more personal connection and allows them to speak to your audience, too! Each room can have a max of 20 speakers at once and 2000 listeners.
Notifying Your Followers 📱💬
While we suggest letting your followers know that you’ll be hosting a Radio ahead of time, sometimes the urge to speak strikes and can’t be ignored! When you enter your Radio, you have the option to notify your followers. This will send a quick message to everyone that follows you, letting them know that you’ve started a Radio. It makes it easier for them to join and you’re more likely to catch people’s attention.
Monetization 🎁💸
Just like with Livestreams, viewers can send gifts to the host at any point during the Radio. Gifts are virtual goodies that can be purchased in-app with Clapper Coins and forwarded to a creator during a Radio. Each gift has a “diamond” value, which the creator can trade in for money. You can send these at any point during a Radio or elect not to give any at all! We leave that up to you, but it’s a great way to show your appreciation.

There are tons of activities to do on your Clapper Radio. Some creators choose to go live every day to connect with and grow their audience. I really enjoy the realness of clapper no fake filters although they r fun sometimes we just need to remain true
I would like to know if each radio session has play back ability? Is the session recording? Can it be researched?
