What does a day in your life look like?

I usually get up at about 4:30 in the morning. I do a little work before work and try to spend a little time with my wife. I go to work at the Kansas Christian College where I am the vice-president of professional online studies. I get there by 7:15 in the morning. I try to get there early because I work with online students and they are all over the country. I leave around 3pm to go to my second job where I am the CEO of Iron Wolf DIstribution. We’ve become very popular with Clapper creators and with our merch. I try to have dinner with my wife around 9pm and we have two sons and four grandsons so I try to take some time to be with them. That’s usually my routine for a day.

How did your journey to become a creator begin?

I started watching with Clapper around elections and that was back when there was a lot of election content on Clapper. I didn’t participate, I watched. It wasn’t really by the end of December when I first started posting content. Actually, it’s my wife’s fault. She told me I was the oldest young guy that she knew, and she also said I didn’t have any friends. It was right around Covid. I’ve never done any type of social media, so I got on Clapper one day and I was hooked.

Let’s talk about Clapper Pen Pals. What inspired you to create this movement?

It really started with Package Wars, what a phenomenal idea. I was sending and receiving gifts and one day I was just sitting there thinking about the whole thing. I thought I got candy from England, I got a coffee cup from Iowa, sucks, but sitting right here on my desk were the letters that came with the packages. Because we don’t get rid of these, they are a personal message from the people. I said: Why don’t we do that more? Then, MommaC.7, in all her greatness said we needed to call Clapper Pen Pals and everybody I’ve spoken to about it has just gone crazy with it. It’s nice to receive a letter, but it’s also nice to see someone opening a letter that you sent to them expressing all that you feel.

Tell me about the scholarships you offer to Clapper creators. How did the idea originate? What made you want to do this on Clapper?

Back in February or March, I was mentioning things to the president of the college here and told him that I had all these folks that I’ve become friends with on Clapper and asked him if we could do something special with it. He wasn’t thrilled about the idea at first but, he made an account and he immediately saw what I was referring to; the friendships and the connections. So, he went to the board of trustees and they approved a quarter-million dollars worth of scholarships for me to be able to award folks who wanted to go to school from Clapper. We have six students who started in July and 12 students who are starting August 1st. That was the whole amount for the first scholarship, but now they are giving me more money for another scholarship because this was such an amazing response. This is about the individuals and giving them something that maybe wasn’t available for them otherwise.

What do you like most about Clapper?

The part that I like most about Clapper is that its a family. The proof that is a family is that we cry together, we fight like brothers and sisters, it is a very unique environment. If someone picks on one person, you are picking on a group of people. There is 120 people on this app that I talk consistently. It really is just a family dynamic.

In what ways do you feel Clapper needs improvement?

I still don’t like some of the requirements to watch what we say, but it was because I was here before when we had the ability to say a variety of things. But, I also know that it’s not your fault, there are other people who have a say in that. I would also like to see an improvement in the verification process. It doesn’t seem like it’s consistent.

What advice would you give new users that want to be successful on Clapper app?

Get in there and just enjoy yourself. Your are going to make mistakes, that’s part of the fun. The main thing I would say is make sure you are going back in your commenting and reply to everyone and get to know people. When you take the time to get to know folks, they are going to take the time to get to know you. You need to go back and respond, even if it’s just a smiley face. That’s just respectful.

What are your goals and aspirations for the future?

One thing that I’ve been wanting to do is Lives. I haven’t been able to find the time to do them because when I find the time I am spending time with the grandkids. That is something I really want to start doing because I think some people might enjoy joining. Also, I want to do anything to help others be who they want to be and reach their max potential. That is really what I am all about. I get a thrilled out of that, it motivates me.
